Be known as an "expert" on babies
Build your business
Enhance parent-child bonding

The HUG is an innovative and family-friendly program to help expectant and new parents:

*understand the language of their newborn, and

*use this information to solve or prevent common problems around sleeping, eating, crying, and bonding.

How will The HUG benefit you & your clinets?

Parent-child bonding is enhanced when parents can read their baby’s body language. The HUG teaches parents to notice and respond well to a baby’s SOSs (Signs of Over-Stimulation) which can interfere with parent-child attachment.

Breastfeeding is facilitated when parents notice their baby's communication.

New parents trust care providers who understand and appreciate the unique personality and capabilities of THEIR newborn!

HUG certification gives you access to engaging teaching tools and materials.

 What HUG training is available?
"Learn at Home"  OR "Live"Workshops are now available

1.(Part I) The HUG Introduction is a two-hour class. Research suggests, and doulas experience, that misunderstanding newborn behavior can undermine a new parent’s confidence, decrease breastfeeding success, and reduce early parent-child attachment. This HUG Your Baby program provides important child development concepts in an innovative and engaging manner.

This presentation describes three newborn “Zones”: The Resting Zone, the Ready Zone, and the Rebooting Zone. Class participants will learn about the Resting (sleeping) Zone and gain insight into helping both baby and mother get a better night’s sleep.  This class will help participants teach parents about  their baby’s visual, auditory, and social abilities after learning how to bring a baby to the alert, Ready Zone to eat and play.   During this presentation participants will explore an unique approach to helping a baby in the Rebooting (fussing/crying) Zone and how to identify a baby’s unique contribution to calming himself.  Parents who are taught this information will delight in their baby’s competence and abilities.
